Bilstein hands down. I have had RS5000s, on my Nissan for 18 years, and 150000 miles. They are solid shocks, and wide open, off road, they work great. However they are a bit on the firm side, overall. I am on my third vehicle with Bilsteins, and they have as much control, off road while having a comfortable on road ride as well.

What's the pain installing the fronts?
I have a 97 F150 4X4 and I'm looking to do the shocks in the spring.
It's got Edelbrocks on it now....
I was leaning towards Bilsteins. I've had Monroe Gas Magnums on my 91 F250 4X4 and they lasted 100K..... any opinions on those on the newer trucks?
The Magnums were the only ones that would last more than a year in an E150 van I had a loonnngg time ago.

Bothing to the fronts. I put them on my 98 f150, and 2001 Expedition with no issues. The Expedition took all of 20 minutes. The asiest way to do it is go ahead and emove teh top nut, then raise the truck, unbolt the bottoms, and you your done. To install, place shock up through A arm, then bolt in bottom, lower vehicle and install top bushing and nut. The only issue I had was geting teh nut started on teh new shocks. Th thickness of teh bushing doesn't leave a lot of stud protruding. I actually ran the nut down without the washer to compress slightly, so I could get the washer on.

Bought mine at 4 wheel parts got them for 2 and change. I did however recieve thr wrong hardware kit, and they said they would be happy to replace it, once they recieved the "defective one". Of course this would have been a drawn out process, with mmy truck sitting in teh driveway. I called Bilstein directly, and they had the parts overnighted to me.
