For all the first timers.....

I know i may sound like an idiot posting this but hey, we've all been there some sort of way or another.....So here's a front shock install for i believe the 97-03 gen of 2wd f150's (correct if im wrong). After i read it, i DO feel stupid for not knowing how because its a really simple process like changing the oil But hey, here i was thinking i had to compress the springs and whatnot....Guess i was wrong but anyway, if anyone needs it here it is...http://www.brucekimball.com/shocks/truck_shocks_1.cfm If not

Thanks for the link Munoxide. I wonder if the process is the same for the 2004+ F150's with struts?

No the process wont be the same for the 04+ because they have coilover shocks... you will almost have to use a coilspring compressor.

I know this is true for 04+ 4x4's but not so sure on 04+ 4x2's

good luck man.

Thanks 4.2trimble. I was hoping since I have the 4x2 I wouldn't need the compressor but it looks to be the common theme with these struts.

If you have struts then you are gonna have to get a compressor. Ive tried ways to get around it and was not sucessful and was extremely dangerous.

autozone and discount auto parts rent for free you put down a deposit the coilspring compressors but i would mess with that ive never like using them. For about 20 bucks you can take it to a machine shop and have them put it in their electric compressor and have it done in a few minutes.
