2006 F-150 add-a-leaf help!

I am having trouble with spring clamps. I called the place I purchased the leaf from and they said to remove the spring clamp (because the add a leaf hits the rivet). How can I get the spring clamps off? I am working with your basic tools. The install instructions are not very helpful. Need help asap 979-661-4060

I used a big hammer and pry bar. Then bent them back on the same way!
