4x4 noises/shake

I know when you go into 4x4 it is common to hear some noises, but for some reason when I go into 4x4 high or low I get some loud noises coming from the front end when I turn. Usually just one loud noise mid turn and thats it. I also notic ethat I get a good vibration between 10-20 mph in 4x4 high. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

Check your ball joints and tierod ends. Also check all the bolts in the lift for anything loose. Proceed from there. What do your CV angles look like?

Did you install the lift yourself or have a shop do it? The shop may have failed to re-clock you driveshaft.

I bought the truck lifted from some guy who actually knew very little about it. I basically got it for cheap and low and behold..I have been having problem after problem..So far just little things but I have got everything taken care of except this noise in the 4X4.

Basically when I go in reverse or forward and turn the wheel, I hear one loud pop and I just get a little shake between 10-20mph. I also noticed there is play in the front driveshaft..about .5" when 4x4 is engaged and 2" when I am in park with the truck turned off. I have 0 play in the rear driveshaft..Any help is appreciated before I take it to someone..

I'd make sure all of the suspension components are torqued properly and then start at a driveline shop who can lengthen, rebalance and re-clock your front driveshaft if need be. The front driveshafts seem to be a hit or miss problem after installing a lift.

Good luck with it.

check your wheel bearings, i blew mine in my ranger and it did almost the same thing... could even be the bearing housing bolts on the spindle could cause the pop when turning
