I have the same feeling about my leveling kit and 35's bro.........
That's why I just ordered my Rize 12" and will be putting 40x13.5x20's on too!
Be ready to spend some coin is all I have to say!!!!
FLspeed is the only member I know of just yet that has the 12" and 40's....I won't have all my parts installed until the end of February.
Call Andrew at Exalt Motorsports if you're going to do it. He'll get you everything you need for the best price out there.

i know there was a few guys runnin the 12" kit but i think only 1 or 2 running 40's
i really dont like the setup. its WAY too much tire on our IFS. Id say the most you would saftly run is 38's
The other problem with 40's is gearing. the lowest you can go on these 4x4 F150's is 4.88's and its not a paticularly great gear choice for 40's id say 5.13's are the best choice.

If your offroading then you need to get as close to factory or under factory gearing to help move those tires along when caked with mud, or stuck between a rock or log.
your buddy what is he running 49's on im sure its not a gas F150...

I'm going with 4.88's because those are the lowest gears you can run in our axles. I've got 3.73's with my 35's and I can't complain about the acceleration at all. Only performance mod I have is my Hypertech too. Pretty sure 4.88's will do just fine.
Keep in mind you'll have to extend the rear driveshaft too...Summit Racing has a Por Comp bolt on for like $90. Or you can just get custom shafts made.

12'' IFS lifts are garbage, and look ridiculous. a SAS is your best option for reliably attaining your desired height/tire configuration. if you offroad at all, don't be surprised when your ball joints and cv axles keep snapping w/ the 12'' IFS lift kit, be it a Rize or not.
I can respect that.......well some of that atleast.
I don't agree that it look ridiculous but I would agree that a SAS would be stronger for offroading. I think SAS setups looks ridiculous personally.
I don't plan on doing any serious offroading and I plan on upgrading to Camburg UCA's with their rebuildable uniball joint. Not sure what to upgrade too if my cv's break but I'm sure there's something out there!
What makes you think the ball joints will break so easily at 12" if they hold up at 8"? The Rize keeps the factory angles giving them more strength. Plenty of people on this site have 8" of lift with wacked out ball joint angles because of stuffing another 2" onto a 6" lift and you their's hold up fine. Not trying to argue with you I'm just curious as to why you say that.

some people don't like the appearance of a 12'' subframe dropdown bracket, that's all. strong aftermarket cv axles will cost you blood, but yes, i agree, they are available. the uniball style joint of the Camburg UCA is a necessary upgrade in my mind for such a setup, as well.
there's no question that with today's technology, that IFS setups can be lifted up quite high, and be built to be pretty strong as well. still, i, and many others feel that big suspension lifts are better left to solid axle suspension.
the fact that the stock 8.8 IFS differential can only be geared down to 4.88 has already been mentioned as well, whereas, with SFA, you can go lower.

IMO, it'll make a nice show truck... It'll get down the road just fine on pavement... You'll 'look down on me', but I'll be laughing and shaking my head side to side at you at the same time! ha, ha!
If you are looking for show, then great! I don't think I'd expect anything 'but' breakage if you do any bogging or serious off road hill climbing....
Man, I wish I had $$ to blow like that!! ha, ha!

My Bronco still has the TTB with longer radius arms. It aligned just fine with caster/camber bushings on the upper ball joints. And actually, the independent setup has more ground clearance due to the pivot points. I can't tell you how many times I have gone through a mud hole with a similar, or even bigger tire truck behind me gets stuck in same hole.

The lift isnt whats causing the CV's to snap. Its the weight of the 40" tires. My 36's weigh over 100#'s what do you think those 40's are gonna weigh in at?
D60's have a hard enough time staying together with the stress of 44's on a continous basis. The half ton 8.8 is gonna snap things on the way to the grocery store.
Not sure why you think SAS looks rediculous? Its the same thing F250's 350's and so on are set up... oh well.
I do hope you take this thing offroad, honestly i do. Its gonna break and your gonna have 13K worth of nothing.

and yes IFS can achive SLIGHTLY more ground clearance do to the arched design of the front crossmember but with the RIZE 12" kit this just isnt true. The thing is HUGE and will catch up on almost anything you try to go over offroad. If you mud it will drag in the mud.
Dirtbound bought this to covert his 8" to a 12" and then decided agianst it when the crossmember came in.
