The rancho lift will raise the back end 2.5", you may not have enough stroke in the old shocks for full range of the suspension.

I will get mine from Rocky Mountain Suspension... or from my local 4x4 shop... I will have the shop put it on for me, but I don't know what their price will be on it, and I don't know if they would charge more to install a kit I didn't buy from them... I guess I'll find out... But as I said before, it will probably be the summer before I am able to buy it. I need to save up some more.

And didn't sportztrailers go out of business? I can't seem to find them anywhere, just their rather crass advertisement videos on youtube.

well shoot... I can get the Rough Country 6" for $1300 and installed for around 600... which is just a little more than what the Rancho just costs to buy. I talked a guy throught their chat thing on the site and he said I could run my stockers for a while, but that when I upgraded tire size I would have to get rims with 4.5" backspacing... what is the backspacing on the OEM 20's? I mean, I could live with 2 more inches of clearance for less cash, lol...

I didn't measure mine but most people that have installed the Rancho kit get more than 4" lift closer to 5" or more. The Rancho has a 1 pc subframe, while the Rough Country has 2 pc that is connected on 1 side. The Rough Country allows you to use the stock shocks on the front because they just put a 4" spacer on top. With Rancho you get the adjustable 9000 series shocks that nice to change the for offroad vs street driving.

i am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, the rough country lift is crap IMO. take a look at how the kicker braces attach to the frame, reason #1. reason #2, spacers on top of crappy oem shocks. it's your money, but i never understood why people buy brand new trucks and buy the cheapest lift kit money can buy and them put the nicest rims and tires on it they make. now imagine, getting in a vicious wreck....a little old lady pulls out in a ford festiva and you can't stop in time and t-bone her head on, now what lift would you want on your truck? the solid 1 piece subframe? or the rough country that is gonna fold right over.....i spend 34 grand on my truck, no 1200 lift kit is going on my ride. that's just me.
i did get a blazing deal on mine,i paid a tad under 1000 bucks from autoanything.com. it's too bad that sportrailerz went outta business, they had kickass deals. ebay has had several lifts on it, in the last several months i seen more than 1 go for 1200 bucks or so with shocks. according to their install sheet, you cannot run stockers. i have yet to find a guy who's running the rancho kit and regretted it. i myself would do it again.

thats true... although I don't think the little old lady or myself would too concerned about whether I have a 1 or 2 piece subframe... But I get your point lol... That and I would have to upgrade my brakes, HAVE TO BUY aftermarket rims, and then tires... so ya, in the long run if I stick with stockers, I will spend a whole lot less on the Rancho.

you don't have to upgrade brakes, just get some good pads and rotors. but rancho is the cheapest way to go, just need tires and the lift.

get some hawk pads and some good rotors, tons cheaper than a big brake upgrade, but will stop alot better too.
