if i got a 3" body lift, would my towing capability go away, cause i've heard that with a body lift you cant tow. and would i need to extend any of the vehicles components like cables, etc.?

If you relocate the rear bumper with a bracket provided by the lift maker then you can't tow with the bumper but you can still tow with your hitch. The hitch will become more visible though because it won't be as hidden by the body. You need to extend the gas filler tube, the body straps, and possibly some other stuff.

if your only trying to clear 33" tires then just go with a leveling kit, if you want to clear 35" tires go with the body lift and you could do the leveling kit also to get rid of the forward rake.

I think if you buy a good kit all that should come with it. I know its a rival forum but this article seems pretty useful. If you read this and think its too hard then maybe you should get a shop to do it or stick to a leveling kit.

Note: I like this forum way more! Lot better help here. Woo!

I went with a rancho 9000 2 1/2 leveling with a "My Ride" pnuematic 4 point suspension kit. Love it, selectable pressure for front and rear; towing, hwy, off road, etc. Problenm is, the fittings. At setting 8 I had leaks. It would cycle, pressure. Not a great problem, the wife hates the cycle noise. I tow a boat (small), but mostly travel/hunt trails. Love the leveling and changed to 285 x17 BFG at ko. Rancho sent me 3 extra fittings, they know the problem.
Suggestion; Use full hoist to set air lines for full suspension travel with zip ties. Easy install and works great, I am not a wrench and it was painless. I can still tow and no RPM changes. If someone can instruct, I will send pictures. 4 wheel parts did a pictoral 4 months ago and I followed the diagrams.

If you buy a Performance Accessories like mine, it will include everthing you need. The issues you mentioned are extremely easy.

if your only lookin for 3" why not look into some 3" spindles?? and then u could add some taller coils and get 4.5-5" of all suspension lift.

And add a body lift with that and run 35's with 8 inches of lift.
