In need of a new truck.. :/

Alright.. Well yesterday my gf and I were on our way out of town for the night and some guy pulled out on the highway and t-boned me. My '03 F-150 is totaled. The only pictures I have are on my phone and I'm not sure if I could get them on here. The guy had an '06 Dodge Ram 2500 with a big brush guard on. My door was pressed into my seat, and the seat was twisted a little bit. Both airbags went off too. On the passenger side, the cab was sticking out almost and inch farther than the box. This had to happen right after I put about $4500 into this past april. Only injuries was a broken pinky for me and my gf broke her wrist. Could've been a lot worse though....The other guy was issued a citation for failure to yield after a stop sign. His insurance will have some nice bills too... Time for a new truck...

I have been looking at the '04 and up models. Looking to spend around 16k. Suggestions on lift, wheels and tires for that truck? I'm not sure if i want screw or scab yet. I had scab before. Thanks for the help guys.

glad your ok. even with those injuries you know it could have been alot worse. I have a 99 scab and an 05 screw. if you have people with you all the time and rarely put long things in the bed the screw is the way to go! try and find a 5.4 cuz the 04-08 trucks are heavier and you will notice the difference in performance.

Yeah, the only motor I am considering is the 5.4 I test drove an '04 screw with 69k miles and this thing was loaded! leather seats, front two were heated. It was right at our ford garage in town and they were asking 19,900 for it. While right next to it there was an '06 scab XLT with only 30k miles for 18,900..

Happy you and your GF are ok. Same questions, they letting you take anything off the truck? I would be interested in the lift if you do.

Nope... Everything on the truck is staying. The only thing i took out were all my personal items, amp, subs, plates, etc. Tires, wheels and lift are staying in the truck. I provided receipts for those items to the insurance company and they are paying me full refund for those parts. I test drove a nice '04 screw that was LOADED. leather interior, heated seats, etc. Really nice truck.

I second that. Good luck on your vehicle search. If you can get financed you should make out well. Do your homework, look for what incentives you have available to you out there.

Go to the dealer with ammo. Sites like AutoLoanDaily.com or Edmunds.com will provide you with info and do's and don'ts on when going to a dealer.

Glad your not hurt worse man.

Your getting lucky getting a full refund for your parts, when my dodge got totaled in 07 my insurance company would only give me 60 for the new tires after i faxed them the over $400 invoice from less than 3 months before

Glad to hear you are ok, another case of "if you can't dodge it, ram it" is that not the dumbest statement ever....see that one peoples trucks all the time.
