Ball joint replacement help

I have a 2005 F150 4x4 king ranch, does anyone have or know where I can get step by step pics and instructions for replacing the lower ball joints? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I was looking for that as well, but for a '97 F150.
Will check the articles. Thanks

Question

Didn't find any "how tos" or pictorials in the old or new articles.

Want to find a 'graphic' of the typical F-150 '97 on so I can order parts,
etc...

Will open a thread with symptoms.

Thanks.

Remove wheel and brakes. Remove cap from the hub use 13mm to remove that nut. Remove tierod and upper balljoint with 21mm and the lower with a 24mm. Will have to wack the spindle a couple of times to break the balljoints and tierod free. Remove spindle from the truck and then go to work on the balljoint. Need a pair of snapring pliers to remove the retainer clip and the wack the balljoint out with a hammer(hit the outside of where the balljoint sits first) then you will need a press to get the new one in. I have my own but you can rent one from your local parts store and the reverse the steps to get it back together. Sorry if it was kinda brief I am one my phone. Just trying to give a howto over the phone on a tiny keyboard is totally different the a computer lol

I was sitting at home LOL. To lazy to get to the computer. I know how to do these balljoints by heart because I do them everyday LOL. Takes me about an hour and a half to do both sides and then alignment. Pays me about 6 hours flat rate.

I found a How To for the Ball Joints on another forum.

http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...ll_Joints.html

Has a nice walk through on how to replace the joints on 97-03 F150's. Should pretty much apply the same for the newer trucks.

Thumbs up

That is a fabulous tour, thanks!
I've got one rubber boot gone on the A arm and will do both sides .

I am believing that the arm is making noise when I turn the truck but not sure but it needs doing... so we'll do it and see.
Thanks again.
