types of shocks?

Ive seen hydro shocks, nitro shocks, and many others...whats all the differences? I need new shocks but dont know the terms for whats best.

i recently got rs5000 i believe they are oil and are very stiff i do not like them. i am curious to see what you find out im also interested!!!

oil? thats a new one yet. yours are coil-overs correct? (I do believe 04s and up have them)

All shocks, whether gas shocks or other, have oil in them. I assume the nitro shocks are nitrogen filled, which is I believe the standard gas for gas shocks. Hydro, could be hydrogen, but I would doubt that as nitrogen is flammable (remember the Hindenberg)

I chose the Rancho rs9000xl shocks... They are nitrogen filled and have a life time warranty... They have different settings for load and trailer hauling... Great shocks...
