Suggestion 3" lift kits

Hey all. I am looking for a 3" lift kit for my 2008 screw FX4 but I am not sure what kind are good. Also would you have to do anything with your steering and any other stuff like that my father was a mechanics and thinks you have to. Any suggestions on brand and the answer to the question would be appreciated thank you.

i wouldnt waste you money on a 3 inch suspension lift. Do a body lift if your dad was a mechanic he could help you install it and be a lot cheaper than trying to buy a 3 inch suspension lift.... If you going to lift it suspension wise i wouldnt go anything less than 6inch but thats just my opinion. I mean you can get a leveling kit thats 2.5 inch($80 and 2.5 is the biggest you want too go with a leveling kit) and be just about where your going to be with a 3inch suspension lift. So waste of money i think to go that low of a suspension lift

I got an Autospring 2inch leveling kit 3 yrs ago for $90 but now the prices are like 69 or something like that idk. But there is like hell bent. If money isnt an issue you can buy the bilstein shocks for the front that also give you the option of 1" or 2" of lift up front same as a leveling kit but its shocks instead of a spacer that goes ontop of the strut. There is write up on how to install it in the how to section of the forums so you can go there and check it out if you want to give ya a better idea

personally id go with what mhockey said if your not wanting a true suspension lift, 2 1/2" leveling kit will let you run 35/12.5's on stock rims with rubbing only at full lock. anything passed 2 1/2" you will start wearing parts out quicker. autospring sells their leveling kits on ebay.

a 3" suspension kit (im assuming skyjacker?) is just basically a longer strut i think now and then a block or AAL in the rear?

rancho makes a true 4" lift kit with a subframe and allows stock rims still and is a really nice kit, but for the price of it you can get a 6" kit cheaper but will need new rims.

I agree with yz250f. No one makes a properly designed 3 inch kit. 2.5 inches is as tall as you can go without subframe brackets. Stick with a 2.5 inch leveling kit.

Here is the one I installed and seems to be the most popular among everyone on this site who has installed them also.

If you are going to do a leveling kit I recommend a two-piece. They are more money and work, but they are engineered to work within your suspension's limits. I'd be concerned about the ball joints if I put the whole thing on top of the strut.

I disagree. No need to do more work for the same result. Also, Daystar and Skyjacker have both changed their two piece kits to one piec designs.

Lift

I needed shocks so I went with Rancho 9000's Qick Lift.

exact same situation... need help!

I have a 2007 f 150 4x4. I have put the exact tires you spec'd. 315/50R24 Nitto grapplers AT on 24 inch rims, only to find out, when I tried to put'm on; I can hardly turn at all. What are my options? I would rather keep the lift to a minimum, if at all possible.
