4 inch lift good quality and resonable price?

i wanted about doin a 6 inch lift on my truck from fabtech but im thinking about a 4 inch instead, and i know fabtech is good quality but expensive, im lookin to safe some monye but still get a good lift, any suggestions, and pics will me nice if yall have a 4 inch lift, and i have a 08 f150, so if i put a 4 inch lift on it could i put 35x12.5x18 inch tires on it with out rubbing, im also getting the a set of 18x9 inch rims with 4.5 inch bs, so could i handle 35s with out rubbing or is 33s the better choice?? thanks

and for just curiosity what about a good price on a 6 inch and good quality, incase i change my mind??

Rancho.

They've got a special going on thru the end of the month, $500 mail in "rebate". The rebate comes in the form of a debit card. You're looking at about $2,200 plus tax for the package, including the 9000XL shocks.

The Rancho kit is designed for an 35x12.5x18 on an 18x9 wheel with 6" of BS. People here have said a 4.5 BS works too.

Actually the Rancho $500 Rebate runs thru the end of August and 35's on a 18x9 rim with 4.5" backspace will rub without some trimming of the wheel well liner. I'd try to find a rim that is closer to 5.5" backspace.

what kind of trimming will u need to do to the wheel liner, im wanting the 4.5bs cause im wanting the wide wheel stance to, ive heard u had to trim the lower valence, what else?

so rancho seems to be the lift everybody likes, about how much more will it cost to have 6 inches of lift then 4 inchs, and i heard there was some welding involved on instaling a 6 inch lift is that true??

The 4" vs. 6" dilemma is what everyone goes through with the rancho kit, i got a little over 5" of lift out of my rancho kit. I can still clear 35's and can still reach over the side of my bed to reach stuff. I went for a 4" just because it was more practical for me as I have to tow a trailer with quads and a fishing boat. You need to decide if that extra 1" is really what you want, I wouldnt hesitate to order a Rancho there quality and craftsmanship is top notch. Not sure on the welding part but most kits i think you have to cut part of the rear crossmember off to clear the new one the kit provides. either way if you get any lift kit at all you will love it!!

lift alone gave me 5" and change with tires not sure went from 235's to a 35" so maybe 2 or 3 more inches just from tires. My dad also has an f-150 and it makes it look tiny now!!

I am in same boat as verifine-f-150 as I wanted a certain stance on my truck but keep it very accessible for use as well as for family and business folks, so the Rancho 4-inch system was perfect for me too. I went with 35x12.50R18 BFG KM2s mounted on 18x9 wheels with -21mm offset and 4.5 inches of backspacing and have absolutely no rubbing as well. I get a lot of positive comments and looks on my truck, and quite honestly I think it has a better stance with the 35s than the 6-inch lifts which look just a tad too high with same wheel/tire combo (but that's my own taste).

u got a sharp lookin truck, good job on it, but noticed u said u dont rub at all with 35s, but u got a 09 and mine is an 08 so idk how much difference there is with the body of the truck, ima do the 4.5bs on rims just dont know how much would rub if much with the 35s

$1200 for Rough Country 4" and $1300 for Rough Country 6". I don't think any one of here has tried their 4" lift for the '04 - '08 F150s but a few have the 6" from them and like it. There's really not much difference between the '09/'10 models and ours as far as the clearing tires goes

Thanks. I honestly have not looked into the differences between the two gens so can't help you there. I do know a lot of folks will go with a full 35-inch tire in the LT size which seem to be a tad bigger than the 35x12.50 sizes (or at least with the BFGs). One of the reasons I went with the 18x9 wheel is it forces me into the 35x12.50R18 KM2s I wanted, and the overall tire profile is slightly smaller (34.8 inches tall unloaded, or about 34 inches tall weighted, with 12.1 inches wide on the 9-inch rim) so it fits perfectly. I suspect if I went with a LT325 size that is taller with a wider tread width, it might need some trimming. The wheel offset helps too.

i have pics in my album not sure how to post correctly, if your gonna do a 4" lift get the rancho you will not be disappointed, mine rides about the same if not better then stock with the rancho shocks. I would recommend this kit to anyone. If you go with a 6" go with BDS or Fabtech, pro comp these are the best IMO
