Bilsteins and Skyjacker 6" coils...wont work?

I bought a used 6" Skyjacker lift kit, just got it today. Took everything out and it appears to be that the Skyjacker struts are completely different from the Bilsteins i bought.

Here are 2 pictures of what i'm talking about.

It looks like i either have to run the Skyjacker coil/strut assembly OR the stock coils and the Bilsteins.

What should i do?

Where ever you got that kit sold you a very old one. I bought my 6" from skyjacker a few months back and had a problem bc I though I was going to get coilovers but got a new shock that used stock springs. So when I called the company back they told me that they havent used the coil over assembly for a few years.
I know that had nothing to do with your question but I thought you might want to know

Just run the bilsteins man. Better ride than that coilover setup most likely. Then if anything those coils are for a 6inch lift so idk maybe give them to someone else to get rid of the procomp spacer but get measurements first idk. Hey if you do that give me a cut in the money haha.

Hey man i got your message, i don't think the Bilsteins will work with the Skyjacker coils because look at where the coils sit on the Bilstein struts, its not at the same location as the Skyjacker struts.

Thats why i put the Bilstein next to the Skyjacker in that location to show the mounting point differences.

I wish i knew someone who has ran both and could tell me the pro's and con's of each. The reason this is such a hard decision is because i need to know what i am going to use before i install everything. If i run the Skyjackers i will take the springs off and have them re powder coated, shocks painted. If i run the Bilsteins i planned on getting them clear coated so the MI winters don't corrode them.

I don't want to do both and have to take a hit when i sell either or.

Well its up too you man. I liked the ride with my skyjacker coils but then again i havent beein in anyone else's lifted f150. But guys seem too love the bilsteins so just go with those. Another thing you could do is run the skyjackers during the winter and then switch over to the bilsteins. Idk just a thought but may be too much work switching them out every year

I'm going to do a little more research, maybe the guys at my local off road shop can give me a better idea.

If the Bilsteins are brand new and the skyjackers are used for a while (especially that old of a kit), then no doubt put the Bilsteins on with the stock coils (assuming the Bilstiens are for a 6" lift). They will last longer and ride smoother since they are new.

Yeah, my Bilsteins are for a 6" lift. I called around and since i plan on running the stock leafs with a block and shackle, everyone is recommending that i use my stock springs with the Bilstein shocks. I plan on running them for the rear so i guess why not the front too so the ride is the same front and rear.
