leveling kit?

I have a question that is probably a dumb one, but I read these forums everyday and know there is alot of knowledge here to help me out.

I have a stock '06 SC Lariat with 18" wheels and the original tires. I hate the stance of my truck. It looks like an old man's truck. I had an '01 SC Lariat and the stance was much better. Eventually I'll be putting factory 20's with with a regular factory sized tire on my '06.

Question #1--What's the difference between my '01 and my '06 Lariat's stance?

Q #2--I see that alot of guys put leveling kits on their trucks. I this what I need and if so, what size? It seems like the front end sits a little lower that the rear.

I'm not into jacking my truck up so I need a ladder to get into it. I just want it to look like a truck and not a grocery getter.

Thanks for the help.

Question 1: Assuming both are 4wheel drive, 01 has torsion bars and your 06 has coilovers. Thats the main difference, honestly both of them have similar stances. There is a good chance if you bought your 01 used the previous owner cranked the torsion bars so it sat higher.

Question 2: 2" or 2.5" Autospring or Hell Bent steel leveling kit will do you good.

As far as the stance of the different body styles, it's really hard to compare since they are completley different vehicles. I think the 97-03 and 04-08 trucks sit at similar heights but both appear much taller than the previous generations.

I have a 2010 F-150 with front leveling kit, does anyone know if I can fit 315's or 305''s tires on my stock 18in rims?

Welcome to the site!

1 thing... Its best to search for what you're looking for (just in case you didn't know there was a search), however sometimes I will admit its hard to find exactly what you're looking for sometimes...

2. Its best to start a new thread as opposed to "hijacking" a thread that's more or less unrelated

3. To answer your question. You can fit 315s with a 2.5" level kit. Search for "PawPaw." He has a similar setup, except with aftermarket rims with stock dimensions tho... And just FYI, for the most part, anything you could do afa tires/wheels with the '04-'08 model you can pretty much do the same with for the new models... There is very little difference in that aspect. You can even run the same wheels - bolt pattern is 6 on 135 for '04-

Hope that helped ya out! and again, welcome to the site!
