I lowered my 2006 FX4 SuperCrew over the last two weekends. Did the rear blocks two weekends ago and did the struts this past weekend. I used the Belltech struts and shocks kit, got a hell of deal on it. Lowered it two inches front and back.
It rides and drives great. Much more solid feel with a nice ride. My stock struts and shocks had 125,000 on them, woddled and wiggled alot compared to the Belltechs! Still a nice ride but it does stiffen up when when the struts go deeper in the stroke.
Things I would have done different.
1. Would have worked better to take both rear blocks out at the same time. I did one at a time and rear ended kicked back about an inch when I lifted the spring off of it.... then had to put the truck in neutral and loosen the u-bolts on the opposite side to get it to rotate forward again without requiring alot of force.... which may have pulled it off the jack.
2. Read the assembly instructions for the struts closer!! I installed the spring base plate upside down on the strut, which raised the truck two inches instead of lowering... It was so much fun the first time, thought I would do it again.
Best thing I did... took the struts to the local shop and had them swap the springs on to the new struts!
I checked the toe last night... I had it towed in about an 1/8 before, now it is toed out by about a 1/4". That's a bigger change than I expected. I'll be toeing it back in using the method in "Techinical Articles".
I'll get a picture and post it. I think it looks better this way with the 20" rims, low profile, wide tires. If I had offroad/bigger tires or had plans to change to bigger more agressive tires I would have leveled the front up to the back or left it stock.

My first post here. We've got a '12 F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 Ecoboost Platinum, I am interested in lowering it a touch. I am in a wheelchair from a motorcycle wreck, my DD now is a ramped modified minivan, so technically it's my wifes truck. We got it to tow our bass boat, and for fun of course.
I have a chairlift system in it to take me from floorboard to seat level, but the seat is about 2-3" too high for an easy transfer, so I would like to fix that. It will also be easier on my wife, and we both like the look of a lowered leveled truck.
So, after reading all 22 pages of this thread plus many others I have some thoughts and questions.
I want a basic lowering that won't impact ride or towing, so prob 2/4; 3/5???
1. I can't find any kits being available for the 2012 models, are 12's the same as 11's?
2. So I can get a basic 2" drop all around by removing the rear block and using 2wd shocks all around, correct?
3. I am still confused on what it takes to get another inch or so in back to level it out. I think I want a little rake for towing purpose, even though tongue weight isn't that much on our boat. decisions, decisions...
4. What parts of the warranty will be voided by doing this?
5. I see some members from the Dallas/North Tx area, anybody know a good shop to take it to?
Thanks.
