finally got my lift and 35's for my 2wd f150! I need some performance help

I finally bought my 2wd fabtech 6 inch lift and dual steering stabalizers. I also bought some 18 inch procomp rims and a set of 325/65/r18 bf all terrain goodrich tires.

DONT FORGET MY TRUCK IS A 2WD 5.4 LITER TRITON V8 SUPERCREW CAB

I have a few dollars left to spend on my truck (im 16 and have been saving up for awhile and have payed for everything INCLUDING the truck even though I play football/weightlift/wrestle year around) I am wondering if there is anything that I can put on my truck to help it last longer/get better efficiency? cold air intakes? what

please help

A cold air intake, computer tuner and exhaust are always good mods, but nothing will make as much impact as regearing.

When you install taller tires, you effectively raise your final gearing. This makes the engine strain and hurts MPG. It also increases wear on your transmission. The only way to correct this is to change your ring and pinion gears to a lower set. What new gears you go with needs to be based on how you use your truck. Someone that does a lot of heavy towing/hauling and never drives on the freeway will probably want to go lower than someone that never tows and drives on the interstate daily. Most people with 35 inch tires go to 4.56 gears.

First this is why we have different sections of the forum for these kinda questions. This has nothing to do with suspension

It was "ment" to be based in this section because of the lift and tires and what I needed to do to help it

Hi.

1. Please post up MY of truck and any other mods not already listed.

2. Please post in the relevant section - either MY-Truck-specific, or Chips&Programming, etc. More hits that way.

3. Please stay in school.
...It was "ment"...

As for yer question - a Washoobi is next to useless as a significant power upgrade - as is an exhaust for the most part.

Yer primary focus should be on regearing as previously mentioned, followed immediately by a custom-tuned programmer for GR & TS correction that will be required, to correct the shift points, and to get some power back.

I recommend an SCT X3 from VMP.

See sig for links.
