Side hop in curves

I have developed a pretty bad "hop" to the side when I go over bumps at speed especially on curved roads when I go over expansion joints or pot holes but it also occurs on straight roads over bumps. Sometimes it feels like the whole back end is up in the air and is trying to swing around on me. The only change I have made recently was switching to some LT tires. Is this due to the tires or a suspension issue? I also have some Bilstein 5100s on order for leveling my truck. Any ideas if these will help my problem or should I look at something else? Truck is a 2006 4x2 with original shocks. Thanks for the help.

That's a pretty tale tale sign of worn shocks. Did you get new shocks for the rear as well with your order? Should straighten everything up if you did.

Yes I ordered Bilstein 5100s all 4 corners. Just waiting on them to come off backorder. I have been waiting since November 11th, Shock Warehouse has the fronts but not the rears yet. Thanks for the reply.

New tires and LTs to boot? I bet they're over inflated. For, now drop some PSIs in the rear tires and see if it tames that sideways hop...it did for me. The 5100s are great shocks but they are NOT soft. The lower tire pressure could help with those as well. Air up if towing/hauling...

Have you looked into Belltech Street Performance shocks? The front will lift you 2" to level out with the rear. The F150 owners LOVE these shocks. We have these in stock ready to ship as well.

Any recommendations for inflation pressure? They are Michelin LTX A/T2s in 285/65/18, the max pressure for them is listed as 80 psi. I currently have them around 50 psi but wasn't sure how much they could be lowered.

I'll give it a shot and see what it does for the ride, although I definitely think I need the new shocks also. Thanks for the help guys.
