2.5/3" leveling kit

so i'm kinda new on here and i was wondering if i can get some good advice or suggestion regarding the 2.5"/3" leveling kit i tried to install on my 98f 150 2wd which are the two coil spacers but the problem is that it seems to put too much stress on the upper control arms added to the fact that are short and hitting the frame every time i hit a small bump or hole. so my question(s) are should i replace the upper control arms with longer ones and where could i find them?
do i need longer shocks? or am i better off by just cutting the springs an inch or so in order to keep everything stock and maybe get a smoother ride?.
any comment advice or suggestion would be very helpful thanks for your time.

The biggest spacer you want to put on top of those springs is 1.5 in. To get 3 ins you need lift spindles

Also they make a kit with the lift spindles, 3in lift springs and longer UCAs, 4in block in the rear, and longer shocks and you get a 6.5in lift

Before with the 1.5 in spacer

After with the Lift Springs, Spindles, and Rear Blocks

Yes, if you go over 2 inches with spacers or lift springs on a 97-03 4x2 you need longer upper control arms.

thanks for both of your advice i just took the 3 in spacers off and i guess i will go with the spindlescause honestly i liked the way it looked with the 3 in spacers even though it wasn't working. so i ordered the spindles the are on their way now would i need anything else besides the 3in spindles? i will keep posting the progress on it and eventually i would like to put either a body lift or could i just use the spindles and the 1.5 spacers on it? thanks again for your reply

Yes, you can combine all three (spindles, spacers and body lift).

The spindles plus the 1.5in level spacer will probably make your front end higher than the rear. To even it out you can add 2 in blocks in the back or an AAL. You will probably be a bit higher than a stock 4x4 of the same year

Wandell, I have a 3" leveing kit with a 1" block in the rear, to avoid premature wear and tear, what should I do to help with the stress I am putting on the suspension???

you can either get rid of your 3" leveling kit, or get a suspension lift to fix the angles you put on the front end w/ that kit.

i'd drop down to a 2-2.5" kit

The 04-11's are a completely different suspension system. Pretty much everyone has figured out that 3 inches is just too tall for a leveling kit. As far as I know your only option is to remove the 3 inch leveling kit and install a smaller one.

to keep close to same height a 4" lift.

if you want to get bigger go with a 6" but you will need aftermarket wheels.

This is my setup as is with the 3" level in the front and the 1" block in the rear, sittin on 315/70/17's w stock BS, think this will look awkward with a 4" lift?? I kinda like the Rough Country lift bc of the price, any thoughts where to get the cheapest but quality 4in lift from??
