Unhappy Yet another leveling question

Howdy. I know this has been reviewed to death here, but what is the cheapest/easiest way to truly level my '97 F150 reg. cab?? I want to level this sob but college and beer take up most of my money so cheap is ok in my book . I wanted to get a set of Bullseye spindles, but I can't find them on the web anymore. Anybody know what happened? Thanks & GIG'EM.

Coil Spring Spacer

Have you considered putting a spacer in your front coil spring? There are plenty of posts on that - if you do a search you will most likely get all the info you need. Not talking about the cheap AutoZone metal things that you "screw" into the springs, but the polyurethane (or rubber) spacer that installs either on top or bottom of the spring. I think you can get them from JC Whitney. That should raise the front of your truck about 1.5" - 2" which is about level with the rear. Good luck.

Thumbs up

I found this while browsing through www.macromotive.com (Offroad Unlimited).

------Looking for a simple and inexpensive solution for some extra lift or tire clearance? The Daystar urethane coil spring spacer is your answer. Depending on the specific application, these spacers are available in pairs or in a kit to do both the front and rear of your vehicle. Lifts range from 3/4-in. ...more

Our Price: $86.98 to $169.52--------

thanks Jacap1, jimmsimm

I did a search on leveling already and the only thing I don't like about the coil spacers is that I would have to buy new shocks so the ones I already have don't "top-out" everytime I hit a bump. I guess I could get the 1" spacers, but why??? I have great shocks already so I don't want to mess that up. I guess I'm S.O.L. because everything else is to expensive for me. Maybe I can afro-engineer something up . Thanks for the help. Gig'em.

Save your money and go with the Fabtech 3.5" kit. I have the leveling kit and wish I waited to get the 3.5".

About $70 bucks for 2" drop shackles for the rear, cheaper than raising the front.

im.damon.fla: what kit are you talking about, the lift spindles or the upper a-arm and coils. cause they are both 3.5 lift.

Either one is better than the leveling kit. Depending on what engine you have, the leveling kit doesn't actually level the truck. Fabtech doesn't mention that the 4.2 isn't heavy enough to level the truck like it is supposed to. I'm saying that the spindles are better because you aren't messing with anything too much. (i.e. shocks, alignment, ride quality)

heh, I like the way you think Norm. Beats the hell outta worrying about a lift. But I'm in Aggieland so ...

4RDPWR, doesn't the Fabtech spindles move the tires out from under the finder well about 3"? I don't know if I would like that. Guess I need to look at more pics. Your truck does look good though. Does anybody else know of any other maker of lift spindles for the F150??

Thanks for the info im.damon.fla. I thought about thier leveling kit, but with what you've mentioned I think I'll pass.

Leveling

Pass on the leveling spring kits. On some trucks the lift is more than advertised leading to alignment problems . The Daystar spacers would be the cheapest the next would be AIM 3" spindles at $249 .
