Daystar 1" quicklift

Hello , I am installing a Daystar 1" quicklift. My question is has anyone done one of these. In the directions it says you may have to grind 1/8" off the top of the stock strut bolts which I had to cut more like a 1/4" to get the extending studs to sit all the way against the strut cap. Now when I put the spacer over the extender studs the solid part of the extender sits just about flush or maybe even a c hair higher than the spacer. I just want to make sure this is normal before I bolted them in place. I emaild Daystar but its Sunday, so I figured I'd give the forum a shot too. Thanks for any help.
