Sqeaky lift.
Hey all, I am new to the lifted trucks and I have had mine for about 2 weeks and it is starting to sqeak/CREAK real bad on the drivers side at low spead. basically leaving a parking spot and backing up somewhere. High speed nothing!!! Any idea of what it could be? I have read to grease everything under the truck.
Thanks for any help.

From what it looks like the kit didnt have trailing arms. I have no idea how old the kit it, the truck is new to me. It has just started to squeak in the last couple days. If I roll forward and tap the brakes it reaks like an old truck. Also when i come to a stop and back up it does the same. It sounds old...hahaha

Well when I jump on the bumpers it doesnt creak, but I did notice on the way home from work that when I come to a stop for normal driving it creaks when almost stop to stop. Shocks sounds possible and so does leafs.....I think I may take it to Les Schwab and have them give a once over and see what they say.

Had a squeaky suspension issue on my old truck, did the same thing, I'd hit the brakes and my truck would creak, I'd accelerate and it would give a little grunt, turned out to be a combination of a worn out leaf spring bushing and a busted leaf in the middle of the stack, it took me forever to find it. Not saying thats what it is on yours but that was what mine was.

Well it turns out I need new upper and lower ball joints, pitman arms, tie rod ends and the ideler arm needs repaired, to the sum of $1400. Oh the joy of buying a Truck and not knowing what to look for with a lifted suspension, everything is original and worn out and the ball joints are the stock NON- greasable one.

Sounds about like the right price to get a shop to do it including parts. You may save a little by ordering the parts yourself and bringing them with you, also make sure you go with something greasable such as moog. Install though isn't as hard as it seems, I did upper's and lowers and tie rods in around 10 hours per side working by myself with basic handtools and floor jacks.
Also I noticed in your sig your not too sure of the lift you have, if you get some close up pics of the front suspension we may be able to help you out.

Ok here is an update...had all the work done took them all day. So I pick it up and no creaking and squeaking and I am thinking finally a quiet truck...NOPE about half hour later it starts again and now after a couple drives with it today it is back to the same. Any ideas what it could be? So when I back into the driveway and crank the wheel it creaks real bad and if you do a slow stop and go or when parking it creaks. They replace upper and lower ball joints, tie rods and ends, idler arms, pitman arms already......Or is this just the fun a lifted truck.

Pizzanman yeah I went with the greasable...I was also thinking it could be the schocks but I would have assumed a place Like Les Schwab would have checked that out and tried to sell me knew ones also.....Oh well I am going back to them tomorrow since they said they fixed what I had brought it in for the first time.

my truck started doing this too shortly after my 6" install. it would squeak when i pushed down on the back bumper. my friend who installed it tightened all of the nuts on the ubolts for the leafs and it stopped...for a week lol. i just live with it now. ive noticed that it gets louder when its humid outside.
