Question Skyjacker Softride Leaf Springs?

I have a 2006 4x4 with a 6" Fabtech lift with dirt logic coil overs and 35s and 4.56 gears. When these tires wear out, which should be in a few months, I'm wanting to go up to 8" and 37x13.50s. I'll put a 2" spacer in the front, but I'm a little undecided about the back. I have a 5" block now, and my leaf springs are pretty much worn out. They're almost flat and I can feel them bottom out on speed bumps and stuff like that. I'm leaning towards putting the stock 2" blocks back in and putting the skyjacker leaf springs on them. They're supposed to lift 5" I believe, so that would give me 8" in front and 5" in back. I'm fine with the front being an inch higher than the back. I hate rake. Here's a link to the leaf springs on skyjacker's page http://skyjacker.com/product.php. If my stock leafs are worn out, would it be smart to put an AAL in and try to bend them back up or should I replace them? and what shocks would I want for the back? Bilstein seems to be the most popular. I don't have to have a Cadillac ride quality, I don't want to sink $500 into rear shocks.

Link isn't working, do you have the part number man?

And wouldn't it give you a total of 7" in the back if you ran it with the factory 2" block also?

Part# is FR44S. When I said 5" and 8" I meant that much higher than stock. Now I have a 5" block in the back, so it's 3" higher than the 2" stock block and the 6" coilovers in the front. I want to go 2" higher in the front and back than I am now

Amazon Amazon

So like those? It says it gives 6" there, but for the price it's not too bad compared to an aal, the lowest I saw them on google real quick for was 275 a piece, and I'm sure the ride would definitely be a whole lot better.

Yeah that's them. Most sites say 5", a couple say 6", one said 4.5". I figure I can get lift shackles if they aren't high enough. But I HATE rake so I'm fine with the front end being a little higher

Yeah I was planning on it. Maybe just a 1.5". I was leaning toward 2" to make sure I don't rub on my fender flares and have to cut a chunk out of them

Just crank your coilovers for the cost of some time and an alignment

Long story, but I have redesigned coils Fabtech had made for me due to complications with the original ones. The new springs are a few inches shorter, so the cap on top of the spring is already tightened down. I don't think there's enough room to get close to 2" of lift out of them. And I learned the hard way that there's not a shop anywhere around here that can compress the springs and tighten or loosen the cap above the spring. I must have tried a dozen places. It was very frustrating. Here's a thread that explains what was wrong: https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...er-owners.html

I have Fox 2.0 rear shocks and they are pretty much the same price as the 5100 rear bilsteins. They came as an option for my BDS kit. They ride pretty nice and are real good offroad.
I didnt know those Skyjacker leafs (FR44S) are only $300 for the pair. I might have to look into that. I have the 5" block with AAL (came in BDS kit)so a total of 5" when you subtract the 2" factory block I took out. I wouldnt mind getting rid of the axle wrap and get a new set of springs.
I added a 1.5" Autospring level on top of my BDS kit so I have 7.5" up front now. I could fit 37's but I still have about 30,000 miles left on my 35" Nitto Trails.....
I heard it was better to just go to Deaver or Atlas to get your springs done but they are so much more expensive than the Sky's. It makes sense why but still. If you dont tow/haul it shouldnt be that bad with the Sky's. I also heard they ride a little rough but like you said I dont need it to ride like a Caddy either.

so let me get this straight. Fabtech redesigned the coilovers so all the stage 2 kits currently have the modified coilovers? Can you still crank them? I plan on getting a 6" Fabtech with coilovers and cranking them to 8" If it'll work

They told me that I was the first one to identify this problem and to work with them to correct it. They finally sent me 2 new coil overs, new coils and shocks and everything. The new coil springs are much shorter than the original ones that kept rattling around. I have not adjusted the new ones at all, and they gave me the same amount of lift as the originals did. They are tightened down almost all the way. My finger is on the bottom of the threads. It looks like to me, if I attempt to crank them down to get more lift then I would only get 1/2" or so. From what they told me, all the future coilovers they make will be like mine. Did you read the thread I posted a link to?
