quickLift Ranchos vs. AS level, yes or no?

I'm currently running a 2" AS leveling kit and some 275/70/18 Michelin's that were on my '07 FX4 SuperCab when I bought it. I'm going to pick up some 295/70/18 Trail Grapplers very soon and looking to upgrade the suspension at the same time.

I'm considering getting the Rancho quickLift struts in front but I've read mixed results on the amount of level that comes off of those. I'm also not achieving a true level with my 2" AS on stock but I would like to at the least keep that height if not improve with the Ranchos.

What I want to know is if it's worth it to go with the quickLift, or look into some other options and keep my 2" AS level spacer?

I also have the same question. I currently have a 2" AS and have had no problems at all(torn boots,ect.). I need new shocks and am intrigued by the Rancho Quick lifts Rs999910. Is there a rancho 9000 series shock for the front? Labor to install seems to make the total price comparable.

Yes, there are Rancho 9000 shocks for the fronts. I have an AS 2.5" level in the front, Firestone bags in the rear, and Rancho 9000s on all four corners of my '08 Screw. I couldn't be happier. Installed all of the above in my driveway.

I have an '08 FX4, I started out with a 2.5" AS and 35" BFG MT's. About a year ago, (40kmi) I needed new upper BJ's so I decided to give the Rancho QL's a try, at the same time I got some Nitto 295-75-18's. I have been running them for a year and about 12kmi, just today, I put the factory struts with the 2.5" AS back in. The Rancho QL's got me right around 2" of lift, maybe a hair less, so I lost at least a half an inch, which I thought, at the time, may help keep the BJ's from wearing out as fast. That half inch loss did not cause any additional tire rub. I really liked the ride of the Rancho's when I initially installed them, very plush compared to the stock FX4. Over time though you get used to it and forget how it rode before which is the main reason I swapped em out today, that and I wanted to see again the height my truck was pre-Rancho. After putting the 2.5" AS back in, I noticed the increased height immediately. I didn't think to take measurements until after I started removing the Ranchos!

So, to answer your question, no, I would not buy the Rancho QL's with the thought that they will net you additional lift over your 2" AS.

depends on the truck guys. read the specs. i have an 04 which rancho calls for 2.5 in lift. i got AT LEAST that much. it is completely different, completely level, and RIDES LIKE A TRUCK. i love my quicklift and couldn't be happier. i will say, that my rancho's were the newer versions which come with a brand new coil. might make the difference.

I put them on mine and got equal to the AS and I was high in the front till I put the new 9000s on the rear which brought it level. I have mine set on the stiffer side for the handling is better. You don't realize how bad your stock shocks have gotten till you change them. I like them and have plenty of clearance for my 275/65/20 BFG TA at 34 in.

well then tell me how the rear went up almost 2" after I took off the tired shocks? I'm just giving a observation that I had when I installed the rear shocks.

Do you have part #s for the front RS9000's? Rancho does not show an RS9000 for the '04-08 F150 on their site. I have been looking for an adjustable, either Rancho or Pro Comp for my '04 and nobody seems to make them. Or at least list them...

So the new quicklifts come with new coils? I have a set of brand new quicklifts sitting in my garage that I'm putting on in a couple weeks when my lift comes off, but they are the struts only without new coils. Still adjustable though. Any other differences between versions? I read these older ones provide 1.75" - 2" lift tops, which is what I want. I don't want a full 2.5" to stress out CVs.

I agree I like how it looks now, but I would like to fit it in a garage and get better fuel mileage as it is aging. I had to park it outside at a remote property for a month because it would not fit in the garage and wood rats got into the engine bay and ate a bunch of hoses/harnesses and crapped everywhere, I don't want to deal with that crap. The lift was fun for the past 4 years but I'm kinda over it and would like a bit more practicality.

Hopefully this link works for the specs page

I am pretty sure that I got at least 2.5" but unfortunately I didn't measure and I installed a larger tire at the same time. I have before and after pictures in my album.

So your quicklift was the new version with coils included?
