Question Need help installing Daystar spacer

I have a 6 inch fabtech lift with the bilstein struts and I was trying to install my Daystar leveling kit but ran into some problems. I got everything on but I couldnt get the bottom bolt of the strut to go back in. The lower arm would not drop down far enough (another 1/2 inch) for me to place the bolt. I tried using a small pry bar to give me the 1/2 inch I needed but i didnt work. Just like some people here the top arm would hit the spring. What do I need to do?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Does the upper control arm connecting to the knuckle have to come apart? I guess I'll keep searching.

Wait, you're putting a leveling spacer on top of leveling struts? That's your problem.

Why is that a problem? There are many people who have done that. Please explain.

Does your fabtech use a 6" spacer or a full length bilstein strut? You are not supposed to stack spacers. For those who have a 6" spacer with their lift kit they use adjustable struts (bilstein adjustables) to gain the 2" of additional lift.

If your bilsteins are a full 6" longer for your lift kit, then you should be fine doing what you are trying assuming you are only going for 8" total lift

I have the full length bilstein strut. I measured my leveling kit spacer and it measured only 1.5 inches. Installing it will only put my truck at 7.5 inches.

My problem is getting the bottom of the strut to line up with the lower control arm so I can put the bolt through. I just found the thread with the spacer install and it says to undo the upper control arm and knuckle. I only have one jack so I have to wait till I buy another to do it that way.

a 1.5" spacer doesn't mean it's a 1.5" level. Some magic witch craft happens and it nets you more lift than the height of the spacer.

I wouldn't install any bigger than a 2" leveling kit on top of a lift. A 2" is pushing it but it has been done. Your angles will suffer with anymore. You may have a 2.5" level kit which is too much not letting it go in.

A 1.5" thick spacer is either 2 or 2.5" of lift iirc.

If you've already disconnected the sway bar link then yes, you need to disconnect the upper control arm from the knuckle. If havent done this, go to the How To section or YouTube and it takes some finesse.
Good luck.

I'm just bringing the truck to the shop I always go to. I found the thread showing the spacer install and tried it but my jack wouldn't jack my truck up on the passenger side high enough.

Hopefully the spacers I have are 2 inch. It was already on the truck when I bought it so I'm not sure. I tried to google some picture to compare, but I can't tell. I'll just have them put it on and drive with it for a little.

I've read on here quite a few people running the same thing. I haven't seen much about problem doing it.

Thanks to all of you for the advice and warnings. I'll post picture up once it's finished.
