Leveling kit installation issues

So I started installing my 3 inch leveling kit on my 2010 xlt 4x4 and I finally mounted the spacer on the strut but I just can't get the strut to go back, the spacer just makes it too long to do it. I'm thinking about getting a spring compressor and try it that way has anyone done it this way? Any other suggestions ?

I've posted a lot about this but now I've come to something different. So I ordered the 3 inch kit but I measured the spacer and its 1 5/8 and to my understanding that is the size of 2.5 inch leveling kits. Which makes me feel better because a 2.5 seems easier on the truck but does anyone know if that is correct?

You're having a hard time because a 3" spacer is just really not a good idea on these trucks. It's not going to go in easily and your angles will be bad.

If you ordered a 3" spacer and you're having a really hard time installing, it's probably not a 2.5".

I'd get a 2" personally.

Did you disconnect the upper ball joint? If so sometimes you need a little pressure on the lower control arm to lift it up to reconnect the upper ball joint. Put your jack under the lower ball joint and use it to lift it up a little to compress the spring enough to reconnect the upper. My 2" leveling spacers measured 1 3/4".
