Need suggestions for new shocks...

I'm thinking of upgrading the shocks on my truck, basically because I want less body roll..

Can someone help me in deciding between Bilstein, Edelbrock, and Rancho?? Are their pros and cons of each??

Any help and experience (good or bad) with these brands of shocks would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks!!

I've got Rancho RS9000's on my truck. They're really nice because you can adjust the shocks to your own liking. I adjust mine more firm if I'm towing my camper or quad. I soften them up for daily use. Just my opinion though.

i have the 5000's and i love them! body roll decreased 200% in my application. the ride did get a little stiffer, but nothing unbearable at all. if you can afford it, id go with the rancho 9000's. that way you can adjust them for any kind of ride you want. ive also heard excellent things about the edelbrock ias shocks, but i havent tried them so i'll let someone who has experience talk about those. hope this helps!

That will give you some facts and illustrations in your decision. I run the 9000s. Great shocks and you can set them to what you like. I run mine on 1 all around, then turn the rears to 4 when towing.

Another vote for the RS-9000s here. After I tinkered with the settings for a while, I never change the front ones anymore, but I do enjoy the ability to do so. I also crank up the rears for towing/hauling. Overall, they're a great product.

I'd go with Bilsteins. They are perhaps the highest quality in terms of build/performance over the long run, and carry a lifetime warrenty, which cannot be beaten. That's just my $.02=)

I recently put Rancho 5000s on my truck and they haven't really wowed me. However, I have not had the chance to do some serious wheelin' yet. The body roll is better than the factory shocks, but that's not saying much.

edelbrocks

I have edelbrocks all the way around on my truck.. could'nt be happier!

body roll is gone, nice smooth ride, off roading is especially nice

they're expensive, but worth the investment

Sounds like you can't go wrong with whatever choice you make.

Adding a rear swaybar will help a great deal also.

I have the Edelbrocks and I'm very happy with the reduction in body roll.
But I did have one that drained out on me. They replaced it under warranty.

Rancho 9000s. I yet to find a downside to these. I can adjust them to fit any purpose, or just my mood at the time. Great shocks, and a vast improvement over the stock shocks.

I am currently driving on Explorer Pro Comp ES9000 shock absorbers.

Body roll has improved tremendously and the ride, while stiff at first, has softened up over the month since they were first installed.

To be honest however, I am about to change to the Rancho 9000's (already got the front shocks, awaiting the rear), as I have heard great things about them.

The bottom line I think is that most aftermarket shocks will be an improvement over the oem shocks.

Edelbrocks.

I've got the Edelbrocks and they are really good. Really reduce body lean in turns. They are stiffer though, but the ride is good. I think any of the shocks on your list are great. Get the cheapest one you can of the three.

I got the Monroe Reflex shocks about two months ago; very happy with them. $40 each (plus a $20 mail-in rebate; not sure if it still applies). Anything is probably going to be better than stock. If money wasn't a question, I probably would have gone with the Rancho 9000s. Given the price difference, I can live without being able to adjust my shocks. There are always other things to buy for the truck.
