I've done 2 things for handling, the rear antisway bar and the edelbrock IAS shocks. The rear antisway (hellwig from Summit $135 or so) made the biggest difference, definately recommended. My truck came with a front one stock.

I have a guy that will sell me his coils, leaf springs, front and rear sway bars off of his 2001 Lightning for $250.00 Would those sway bars work with no problems on my truck????

1 7/16 unheard of? I dont think so, go look at some of the GM ones. I put a front bar on a sonoma from a 2wd 4dr s10 blazer that was almost 2 inches. I took the bushings of it too.

Don't forget that some are solid, some aren't.

I installed a Helwig rear anti-sway bar for my 2001 SuperCrew. Best handling mod in my opinion. The installation instructions were not the best, but when I called one of their techs he told me exactly how to set it up. The funny thing is that the brackets that mount the sway bar to the axle are positioned at a 45 degree angle toward the front of the truck. I was concerned that under heavy load conditions the bar would tend to rotate toward the top of the axle, cutting my brake lines. To tested this, I loaded 1800 lbs. of horse crap (might as well been Chevy truck parts) into the back and took it for a joy ride; this thing performed great! I took corners pretty fast with very little roll; the truck stayed virtually level all the way through the corner. Go for the Helwig then the Edelbrocks.
