lowering '97 f150 supercab
hey guys, i have a '97 f150. i just ordered a set of 20" mkw wheels with 285 50 20 bf's. i would like some feedback on the best way to get the 2/3" drop or maybey even the 3/4" if there's room. i would also like to know if i should order the kits and attempt it myself or if there are any custom shops around the atlanta, ga area ( besides "godfather screwups" ) that can handle the task. also what kinda duckies am i lookin at for the job.

I have had no luck with God Fathers either. Whe nI hav called they are the rudest bunch of Chevy guys I have spoke to.
About your suspension, I have been investigating the suspension thing myself. The first step I would take is figure out the over height of your tire and compare it to your factory tire height. If it is near the same, it is my understanding that you can get away with a 3/4 drop with stock height tires. If your new tires are taller, adjust the drop amount by the change in tire height difference from stock tire height.
Hope this helps!!

Hello everett banks, I have 275/45/20 Goodyears on my 20's which have an overall diameter of 29.7 I believe. Thats slightly smaller than stock (about 1/2in. maybe) and with the Belltech 3/4 drop I got about a 2 1/4" gap in the front and 2 1/2" in the back. Your tire combo is about 31.2" Looks like you would still be ok with a 3/4 drop. You might get some rubbing on sharp u turns and such, but I think you'll be ok!
