I know what you mean about inflated traction bars. I seen the Caltracs and other types of traction devices the Lightning guys are using. They are slick but I cant see shelling out $300 + dollars for a set of them.
The Horsepower Freak was making his own set a while back. Maybe he can get a set to you for a more reasonable price?
I never seen those JCWhitney ones, I wonder how they bolt up? Lakewood had a different pair for around $90 but I cant find a pic anywhere. I'm also in the market for a pair of traction bars, if I find somthing good I'll post it back here.
Jegs has these for $65.99 I'm not sure if they'll work on our trucks though ?

I ran the lake wood bars on my truck the first picture is what they look like you can get these from summit for around 90 plus handling. these bars do work and if your truck is lowered you can not see them hardly at all. best bang for the buck. my truck wheel hopped realy bad and those bars take it all out. I also tried a set of johny lightnings rancho style bars they will work if installed right. the majior probem with them is they hang to low and clearance is def. a issue on a lowered truck. my truck is a 2001 ext cab. v6 and when i was dragin it i ran a nitrous express wet kit, 100 shot, air ind, gibbson cat back it ran around 10 in 1/8 mile with street tires I never got to run slicks. my tuck is a 5spd and it had problems shifting into 3rd under power. tremac makes a new trans that will cure that. but it was more than i wanted to put into my v6. so i sold the nitrous, traction bars, lowering kit,18 inch wheels. and installed a 7 inch lift with 35's and before you say I know one extreme to another,
hope this helps ya

the bars go under the axel and the two risers go up to the leaf springs the hardwhare pictured goes on top of the leaf spring and the blots come down thru the holes like making a leaf spring sandwhich.lol. it comes with shims so you can adjust where the snubber hits the leaf spring eye. there is not much to it . once you seen it or a picture of it . I'll look to see If I got a pic.
