Ford OEM Hitch Reciever

i just purchased a Ford OEM Class III reciever to put on my '99 4.6 XL 4x4

i payed a good price for it(IMO) with tax and hardware it came to $140....is this a good deal or should i look into getting a Reese or another brand.....

the truck didnt come with one, but im pulling a 2 place aluminum enlosed snowmobile trailer w/ 2 machines, gear and about 30gals of gas in cans(id say 2600lbs or so).....the truck does have a tranny cooler infromt of the grille....

I need some quick feedback cuz i can cancel the Ford Hitch!

Some of that info might help you out. I only paid $109 for my Hidden Hitch from a local truck shop.

I could be wrong, but I don't know of any receiver for our trucks that don't bolt on, and as long as you use good quality bolts you shouldn't have any problems. I've never heard of anyone shearing bolts on one on any truck...

Will you be using just the standard flat 4 plug? If so I thought all F150's had that. My '03 XLT Sport did, but didn't have a receiver. Does that "everything" include an insert and ball?

I got mine (Valley) at a local Fleet Farm for $99. Today you can get a Hidden Hitch for that truck at www.etrailer.com for $99. It isn't a huge difference but, hey you asked.
