off road package

'03 F-150,5.4L w/ offroad package from factory.my question is,is the transmission cooler that's installed on it enough for towing a 5500 lb.(tops)trailer.my local ford dealer is having a hard time finding out and seem to think it IS the tranny cooler that comes with the factory class III tow package.it has 8 tubes and a 3/8"inlet line that expands to1/2" inside the cooler.according to the mechanic"it's a big cooler"and "should be fine for towing."appreciate input from those who know more than i about this.thanks folks

Well, you don’t say what part of the country you’re in so assuming you’re not in the mountains all the time, you should be fine. Either way, try to go easy on the tranny and lock out OD while towing with that load.

Anyone know why Ford still hasn’t gotten their act together and begun offering a tranny with a tow mode?
