What hitch and what do I need
Ok so I bought a well maintaned 1997 expedition. It has 127 on the clock. Im going to buy either a factory tech or Lentech valvebody and install a cooler. Its doesnt have a tow package, but has a factory hitch on the bumper. I know I need something better. What should I look for. I will be towing a open trailer with a mustang and then later 64 buick.
Thanks Patrick

At least a Class III Hitch with 2" receiver and Weight Distribution system (Tortion Bars)
Hitch such as:
http://search.cartserver.com/search/...ition&GO=GO%21
And Distribution System such as:
http://www.reese-hitches.com/heavy_d...und_bar_wd.htm
Then, Brake Controller
http://www.reese-hitches.com/elec_brakeman_dig.html
You may even want to add on a Sway Bar:
http://www.reese-hitches.com/sway_controls.htm
These are all examples of course. But there is also alot of info on that website for beginning towers
Hope it helps

This type of brakes has a little pendulum inside a box (located on the trailer just behind the hitch) that swings forward from the momemtum that is created when you, in the tow vehicle, hit the brakes. As it swings past a certain point, a sensor causes the trailer brakes to activate.
Not as good as having regular brakes and using a brake controller though.
