It has a five speed and we are adding a draw tight hitch. Does anyone know what the towing capacity is for this F-150 regular cab. It is a 2002 6cylinder 5 speed. Prefer no guessing please. Towing a show car to Alabama and back to Florida. Thanks in advance for your replies.

At best your v6/manual is rated for #3500. At worst it's #2000....

Now, this is just going by the guide which also assumes a base truck. At best your truck is rated for a #7800 GCWR. That's truck and trailer weight combined....

Now, if you are good with a clutch, you could probably get away with it....... The trucks brakes, frame, suspension is the same as any other F150 with a higher tow rating. Your weak link is the clutch and I think Ford just under rates them so they don't have to replace everyones clutch when they burn it out trying to tow a #5000 trailer.....

You should be fine towing 3500# with your truck, on short hauls I towed over 6000# with my previous 98 F150 4.2 with 5 speed manual. In the 1st 3 gears my truck had good power and I used to stretch my shift into 4th when towing as right around 50 mph it was a little sluggish. Once past the 50-55 area 4th would tow strong. As I was towing a 5'ver the wind would sometimes create problems in 5th so I would run her in 4th but under normal conditions I was able to cruise at highway speeds with no problems in 5th.
