Generator Mounting and sound/heat insulation

Hi everyone,

My 04 screw 1/2 pulls a 24ft Haulmark Race trailer (Enclosed)

I am getting ready to mount the generator in the trailer and needed some others experience and or ideas on a good sound insulator to place around the framing for the generator.

It will be mounted inside by the generator door.

My intial thinking is to make a lite weight frame work out of alum angle, pop some .040 aluminum to that. Then add some type of sound/heat barrier and then a lite weight wooden cover.

But what should I use for the sound/heat barrier?

THanks
Mac

Maybe some dynamat, or I 've seen in JC whitney the aluminized underhood liners, they are supposed to reflect heat and noise. Just make sure you have some way to let the heat out.

If sound is the only issue, you may want to take a look at the Honda line.
My 3000watt Honda produces only 59dbs which is equal to normal speach.
It is pretty amazing. The only draw back is $$$. It cost me about $1600
retail.
