I'm confused. 04 Screw w/ 5.4L can tow more than that, between 7700 and 9200, depending on axle ratio and wheel diameter. See page 179 of your owneres manual.
Which 30' toy hauler are you looking at that only weights 5500 pounds? I thought they were more like 9k unloaded and 12-15k GVWR. I wouldn't tow much more than 23ft w/ 1/2 ton truck.
What boat and how much does it weigh? Are you thinking of putting it inside the TH? We need more information.

Thanks for the extra information. Your tow rating is 8700 pounds with a GCWR of 14500. 7500 pounds is more reasonable as you'll be near the GCWR first.
The WorknPlay is not a traditional TH, so I apologize for my confusion.
What will you put in the TH? The trailer will weight about 5500 pounds (w/o options) and empty. You'll be adding a good 800 pounds of water, food, clothes, and general camping gear to that before loading the cargo bay. You'll be close to GCWR without the second trailer, let alone the total length issues.
I believe in Michigan you can tandem tow only if the first trailer is a fith wheel. I do not know your state's rules.
