I have a 2004 f150 4x4 screw w/5.4 triton, can i pull a 30ft toyhauler with this gvwr of the trailer is 5500lbs, the trailer can handle up to 5000 more lbs. I know that the truck is only 7600. I would like to add a boat to this ?

Empty toy hauler(trailer weighs at least 500#) plus a boat? Sure, if it's legal in your state with your driver's liscense. Make sure the lightest trailer is the last one back or emergency stopping could spell disaster. With that many axles on the ground you will need trailer brakes on all axles to be legal and probably not a standard driver's liscense.

I'm confused. 04 Screw w/ 5.4L can tow more than that, between 7700 and 9200, depending on axle ratio and wheel diameter. See page 179 of your owneres manual.

Which 30' toy hauler are you looking at that only weights 5500 pounds? I thought they were more like 9k unloaded and 12-15k GVWR. I wouldn't tow much more than 23ft w/ 1/2 ton truck.

What boat and how much does it weigh? Are you thinking of putting it inside the TH? We need more information.

Here is what we have; 2004 f150 screw, 5.4efi, ele 4spd auto w/od ; lt 275/65r18 with 3.73 ltd slip, it has a trailer package on it. The trailer that I am talking about is at Dykemans Camper Sales In Hastings, NE., it is a work/play made by forestriverinc.com and is a wpt 26db tt with a gvwr of 5560 and a cargo capacity of 5000 total gvwr of unit with brakes is 10660 the camper part is 14' the cargo area is 13' for a total of 27' the hitch length is 60" which makes this unit a 30'. My boat is 2,000 single axle trailer, this will be pulled behind the trailer in NE., only I understasnd that only Ne. is the only state that allows a ball on ball, no other stat allows this ?

Thanks for the extra information. Your tow rating is 8700 pounds with a GCWR of 14500. 7500 pounds is more reasonable as you'll be near the GCWR first.

The WorknPlay is not a traditional TH, so I apologize for my confusion.

What will you put in the TH? The trailer will weight about 5500 pounds (w/o options) and empty. You'll be adding a good 800 pounds of water, food, clothes, and general camping gear to that before loading the cargo bay. You'll be close to GCWR without the second trailer, let alone the total length issues.

I believe in Michigan you can tandem tow only if the first trailer is a fith wheel. I do not know your state's rules.

so what do you think ? 27'/30' trailer with a stablizer hitch on this? we pulled the trailer the other night by itself and it pulled fine, no stablizer hitch just ball, it lowered the pickup a bit but not much. I understand that I would not want to pull both trailers every weekend to here and back, but will the f150 handle the work/play every weekend with the four wheeler or the Harley's in it (no water in it) till you get to the stopping point?

That trailer will be great (especialyl w/ WD hitch) for you with bikes and quads. Just keep the cargo to 2000 pounds instead of 5000. In ideal conditions WD is not needed. But you'll be thankful for it every so often.
