"Hidden Hitch" - any advice?
I am thinking about getting a Class III "hidden hitch" for my 02 F150 automatic tranny 4.2 V6. I don't have a boat, RV, or anything of that type...yet (and when I do, I'm getting a 5.4V8). This hitch would be reserved almost 100 percent for Uhaul trailers, low boys, and the like. I wanted this hitch to exist with as LOW of a profile as possible. Bottom line - maybe 3,000 pounds max.
Question is - does ANYONE in here recommend Hidden Hitch? Of course the rep tells me that the product is great and wonderful, but I have some doubts about it.
If you check out the Ebay auction I'm questioning:

What I question is the part of the hitch that's welded to the cross-bar - looks pretty flimsy to me. Does anyone have any OTHER recommendation or can anyone vouch for this product?
Or should I just tow off the bumper?
Thanks for the help, guys.

GO FOR THE RECEIVER HITCH!!!!!
My 02 has 4 bolts attaching the bumper to the ends of the frame. I had a Ranch Hand bumper on it, but the weight of the bumper and trailer load started to pull the bolts through the frame and would sag.
My receiver hitch uses 4 bolts that are (in my opinion) more desirably placed.
Of course you know what they say about opinions.
Good luck and get the trailer brakes if you have a choice.
