I see this is an older thread,and I am now in a similar situation as Rockpick.Can anyone tell me is the Prodigy still the way to go or is there something else out there that is better.Thanks for the help.

The Prodigy has been the brake controll for at least 5 years. Tekonsha has a newer model with extra features called the P3, but I don't think it offeres any better towing performance. Just nicer display and better diagnostics.

Jumping back in -- I can tell you that the Prodigy is a GREAT controller. While I rarely tow (maybe once per quarter), I can tell you that what little I've used the device, it's solid. Very simple to use and does a fantastic job at doing what it's supposed to do.
