Ford trucks are tough - I doubt that you WILL have any problems besides what you are already prepared for - flat tires, plugged air filter if it gets real dusty, stone damage. The add a leaf sounds like a good idea - and maybe even a new set of shocks before you go if yours have any kind of mileage on them. You sound like you have a very good concept of preventive maintenance, that's a huge plus right there.
