towing verses hauling

Is there any difference in gas milage, if you haul an overhead camper or tow a camper trailer, of the same weight?

Do they make those small enough for a 150?? I don't think I've ever seen a tow camper trailer that weighs under 2,000 lbs?? I guess I would have to say gas mileage on one would suck bad, and the other would suck really bad Funny thing...I've towed a 2,500 lb enclosed trailer and my 7,500 lb trailer and the truck seems to get about the same mileage!! 7-9.

towing verses hauling: part 2

Mine is a f250, but that would not make a difference in my question or the answer. Which or what truck does not matter.

I now have an 11' cabover camper on the PU. Would I save/lose any milage if I traded it to a 30' camping trailer?
Could I save one way or the other? Would it be worth it?

Thanx!

Well, a 30' RV will weigh 3 times a much, so city fuel economy will be lower. Highway is more about aerodynamics than weight until you hit the hills/mountains. Eiher way, I bet FE goes down 2mpg with a 30' trailer.
