Timbrens

Wondering if any of you use them...

Our 5er has a pin weight of 1250 lbs, prob more like 1600 loaded.

I added a 5th Airborne king pin box and wanted to see if the timbrens would make a difference.

Thoughts?

The Timbrens is nothing more than a glorified bump stop. It will compress a little and then you will not have any rear suspension. What would really help you out is rear air bags. Air bags will give you active rear suspsension taht can handle 5000#'s...not that the rear axle is up for it...but the suspension will be.

1200-1600# pin weight...man-o-man.... that translates to 12,000-24,000# trailer. You are deep into 1 ton territory there with that load.

Check the legality of where you plan to travel with that load.

thanks for the info, my 5er is actually only 8600 dry, and around 10K loaded including half filled fresh tank. Its the new 08 Jayco Eagle Super Lite.

I am debating on the airbags vs the timbrens. Just wanting to smooth out when the rear drops on bigger bumps.

Timbrens work very well. The only people that don't like them are the people that don't have them. Seems that people would rather spend several hundreds of dollars on an opinion based on nothing. I have them and they can handle heavy use. Great part is that they do not wear out like air bags.

thanks Halrazr...appreciate the post and experince with the product.

trying to determine if I need them by looking at my spring hits based on towing. I can see some drop marks where the load pushed the springs down.

Best regards

I have a set of Timbrens on my 07 and tow a TT weighing close to 7,000 lbs loaded and I like them. The truck handles nice and when the truck is not loaded, the Timbrens are out of the picture so you retain the stock ride.
