Payload capacity

Ok guys and girls I am looking at purchasing an enclosed trailer and found an Interstate 24' that has twin 3500# axles. The GVWR is 7000# curbweight 3950# and it says payload capacity is 3050#.So tell me is that payload capacity the total internal weight that trailer can carry or am I of the mark here.My truck that I want to carry is at least 3500# I think. Thanks I know that this is a straight forward question for most of you but I am learning as quick as I can. Thanks for the help.

If what you want to carry is 3500, then you will be overweight by 500lbs. GVWR is weight of trailer plus cargo, which mean 3050lbs of cargo is it.

Thanks for the reply Kingfish, that is what I thought but wasn't sure.Just seems like very little weight considering the size of the trailer.
