Towing with 35's
I don't know much about towing and I need to pull my dad's boat out of the water for him in a few days....the boat weighs 6,000 lbs plus whatever the dual axle trailer weighs. I have the towing package and 3.73s. Will I have any issues pulling that sucker out with a 4" suspension lift and 35's? Also, should I get a 4" drop hitch since I'm lifted 4" or just a 2"? Thanks.

Cope, that's about the same weight boat and other stuff I pull. I've got a 5 inch Rapid Hitch dropped to the next from lowest setting and it's barely low enough, I could easily set it to the lowest. I have an add a leaf for about 5 inches of total rear lift but I would think the 4-inch drop would be required as I would bet the 2-inch drop would not be low enough to crank the tongue up off the ball. I never pulled when I had stock 3.73 gears (I run 4.56) but I doubt pulling it out will be any problem at all. Is 6,000 the dry weight? If so you are probably looking at almost 8,000 total with trailer and "wet" boat which will not be too much problem pulling out or around town but on highway you'll be pushing it a bit. Just remember to go slow, think ahead, plan out stops, leave lots of braking room, and wide turns.
