My next experiment is the following:

Add a 5th wheel hitch to it. Then get a decently loaded 60,000 lb trailer, and see if I can haul it for 50 miles. Then I'll record how well it handles it.

My Hypothesis:

My Hankooks will fail, then my rear axle will snap in half, then my frame will bend like a prezel. Then it will start rolling down a hill uncontrollably and then boomerang back some how and run me over. I also believe that the M5OD's input shaft will see better days... but heck, the driveshaft will be bent so who cares...

My final conclusion:

Not sure yet... but I do kinda need my F150 right now... so it'll have to wait a couple months...

I'm not planning on replacing mine in the near future. It's only got 94k on it.

Me either... I like my F150... even though I try killing it with abstract things... it probably won't break.

I still want one of those new fangled F250s... and see what I can do to that...

Let's see - a F250 with a stick - you want a 5.4, a V10, or a diesel?

F250 with a stick with that new fangled 6.4l TTD engine along with a Crew cab and the 8" bed with 172.4" of fun... because it's got to be longer than a school bus.

I've hauled a lot of dirt in my days of driving and I don't see anywhere near 3500 lbs. in the back of your truck. Unless you scaled it, I'm saying BS on the weight. That much weight and 3 inches from the bumpstops ain't happening on factory springs. I'd be shocked if you scaled out over 1500 lbs.
It looks to be about a yard (1 big scoop, or 2 small) which would put you around 1000-1200, maybe more if wet.
If you did have that much in the bed with p-rated tires I hope I never see you on the road. You are very lucky not to have hurt yourself, or someone else.

He had a 1 cubic yard bucket on his skid and he loaded it heaping, and he gave me another shot with exactly 1/2 that bucket loaded. He said it was around 3500 lbs. He told me that 1 yard is approx 2000 lbs with a ~25% moisture content. Depending on where he gets it from the pile. He mixed it up for me, so I had a mix of wet and dry. Plus I have my toolbox loaded with roughly 800 lbs of tools... I think the actual weight was something like 760 lbs... but I don't remember. Also the stuff in my cab and my own weight of 125 lbs. It adds up quck.
