Smile New member Towing 22' Bay boat w/ 2008 XLT

Hi guys, First off I have to give major props to you guys for having an outstanding site. I have learned and seen so many intersting things in the 2 days that I have been a member. I do have a few questions that I hope you fellas can help out with.

1. We have a 22' bay boat that we like to take down to Venice, LA to fish. In my photo album I have pics of my truck and our family Expedition (5.4L) and boat. I help the old man out with the drive when I can and I'm wondering what to expect when I pull the boat for the first time with my truck. (4.6L V8) What do you guys think? And I do have the towing package on the truck.

It's not going to have anywhere near the towing power of the Expy. At least there aren't any mountains down where you are.

Might as well kick the OD off when you start out. Then get a feel for it on the highways. My 4.6 does a pretty good job of towing my 19 footer but I thank the Troyer tunes for that. Towed it a few times before the tunes and I wasn't happy.
