Trying to level out, how level is good enough ?
I got my prodigy hooked up and ready to try out. Now I think I have another problem . How level to I have to get the trailer to tow it ? I have a weight distribution setup from Reese. I has an adjustable head which I don't quite understand. But. O am on the top bolt holes on the head and I am still not sitting level after is is all drown tight.
Here is what I have for a head

Also, as I spoke before the head tilts but I don't understand that either.
Thanks so Much for helping a new guy out !

What are you towing?
The first time its going to take some tuning, but once you get it where its nice and level, not so much tongue weight, its going to be nice. Now, on the trailer, put the weight close to the axles, not all at the front. If the truck squats a lot, lower in the rear than front, usually there is too much tongue weight.

Okay guys, here is what it looks like when it is hooked up and the jack is lifted so all the weight is on the truck. Does it look that bad ? What do I need to adjust ? I am thinking maybe I need to adjust the head tilt a little bit as like I said ,I don't have any adjustment left. As it looks like it is trying to bend the receiver up.
Thanks,
Raz

That looks good, a little toungue weight, but not too much. Have you gone to a scale? Go and weigh the back of the truck, unloaded, and do the same loaded. See how much it squats and how much weight is on the rear.
I shoot for about 3-400 lbs tongue weight, but my loads are more negotiable than what you have there (long car trailer)

So, it doesn't look that bad ? I thought the trailer had to be level when towing down the road . Maybe I am too much of a perfectionist. So, you guys would pull the trailer down the road without a concern by what you see ?
Thanks,
Raz
BTW: I live in rural Iowa and don't have a scale nearby but will check the weight when I get to the nearest grain elevator.
