Blinkers are very slow with trailer.

I picked up a trailer from a rental center yesterday to use to pick up about 3k lbs of hardwood. I connected the 4-pin harness (been used a few times recently with no problems) and the blinkers act funny. When I put on the L or R blinker, the arrow on my dash lights up solid for a few seconds, then blinks a few times, then goes solid again. Almost like it needs to charge before it'll blink.

Do I need a different blinker relay, or does this sound like a trailer wiring problem? I'm heading out after work to get the wood, so I may not be able to do much with it before then. Any quick tips to check?

Thanks,
Greg

You need a heavy duty or a electronic blinker. The added load from the trailer
is loading the blinker unit.

Thanks for the info, thats what I suspected. Is this something I can pick up from Autozone?

I searched Autozone online real quick and it lists part number EP27 for the turn signal flasher, and says "note: electronic." Doesn't say heavy duty or anything, but it's only $12.99 so I guess it's worth a shot.

Well Auto Zone was wrong, the EP27 is not even close to the right part. Any recommendations on where to buy a proper heavy duty replacement?
