Factory Hitch Brand
I am trying to find out what is the brand of the reciever hitches FORD installs on the 2008 Supercrew at the factory. I need a hitch for my F150 Supercrew and I do not want to install a hitch where I will be seeing the crossbar from the back of the truck. The factory ones all you see is the 2x2 reciever.
Thanks

i was told by my parts guy that your bumper ties into the hitch, now i don't know if the bumpers are different too or not but your cheapest bet is to find a new take off, or ebay. i know that newtakeoff.com has 2007 2 wheel drive hitch but i dont know if it will fit. if you just wanna see the the reciever hole get yourself a hidden hitch, slick install, no drilling at all, i put one of my ranger in less than 20 mins.

My 1998 F150 had the factory hitch you describe. Other posters claim the factory hitch ties into the bumper and possibly the fenders. I am still not clear on this.
My 2007 has a U-Haul hitch I had installed for around $200. The U-Haul has 4 bolts attached to end of the frame rails. The entire install was about 20 minutes.
The U-Haul hitch is more visible than the factory. However, the U-Haul is painted gloss black. The Factory Ford is Flat Black.
I had the same reservations you did on appearance. Now that I have it, I don't think it looks too bad.
You might spend some extra time and $ trying to accomplish something that may not matter too much in the end.
Good luck.
