in the area where my mom lives there is a "rancher" I'll use that term lightly, he has a supercrew F-150 and he has a 4 horse gooseneck stock trailer. when the trailer is empty it has the f-150 on the bumpstops let alone when he stuff's 4 horses in it. I do not recomend the OP attempt this as it will needelessly endanger other humans on the roads let alone his livestock forced to load into the trailer. They sell 3/4 and 1 tons for a reason
The "rancher" you speak of either has a horse trailer or a stock trailer. There is a difference.

Anyway, their trailer must be terribly set up if it really sits on the stops empty. I tow a 3 horse trailer with a dressing room in front with my '07 Screw and even loaded with 3 horses it's nowhere close to being on the stops.

To the OP, get a B&W hitch for your truck. That's what I'm running in mine. I think it's model #1104.

My trailer weighs ~4500 empty. Pushing 8k loaded with 3 horses.

The truck handles it great. There is a HUGE difference between pulling a heavy bumper pull and a GN. It has plenty of power and with brakes on both trailer axles it stops very well.

hwm3-

Is that the 5.5' or 6.5' box?

How far in front of the axle is the ball located?

I want to install one on a 2008 supercrew for light duty flatbed.

It's the 5.5' box, and the ball is directly over the axle.
