The only way you are going to be able tow that is get a F350 or bigger vehicle. The trailer 7700# plus a mini excavator roughly 10,000# is way to much for a F150 to handle regardless of how you set it up.

They make ball mounts and ***** rated up to 9k in 2". Putnum and Curt also make a 2" rated at 13k.

Without WD (weight distribution) bars you will need a Class IV or Class V hitch rated at 9k. The Class V will be a 2.5" reciever...(BIG and expensive)
You can get Class V ball mount/ball rated at 13k without going to a pintle.

(dsq3973 , Mini-X's weigh between 3600 and 17000 lbs and his trailer is only about 2600lbs not 7k.... it's rated for 7k.)

A 7700# trailer GVWR only weighs about 2.6k. You can tow a small one; but the above post has a point. This size load is usually best left to a Super Duty if used on any type of regular basis.

A Class 3 hitch and weight distribution bars are good to 10k gross and 1k tongue weight. This is more than your truck is rated to tow, so that should be fine.

Okay, and if you load that thing up to 7700#, you will be playing around right at the max of your truck.
