Tow this without WD-hitch?

I have 2006 Crew with 5.4 and 3.55 gears and factory tow package.

Can I tow this:
http://www.rvwholesalers.com/invento...ck=&condition=

Here are the specs:
http://www.rvwholesalers.com/modules...ite&model=21MB

Since it's under 5K do I need a WD hitch or should I get one just to be safe?

Obviously I would install a brake controller.

Thanks.

I would get a WD hitch. I towed a 24 foot cargo trailer without one and it was all over the road. Now that trailer is set up to accpet the WD hitch. It pulls like a dream.

And I don't see why your truck couldn't pull it. Back a few years ago in 06 I had a 06 f150 STX that had the 4.2L V6 and I pulled my parents boat that was almost 4 thousand pounds with no problems.

Your truck will tow that just fine... My 1997 tows my trailer that has essentially the same specs and floor plan for the most part.. I use a WD hitch setup on it... That trailer has a pretty low (IMO) dry tongue weight.. My trailers dry tongue weight was listed as #540! I figure I'm well over #650 now that it's all loaded up...

If you had an F250 SD, then I'd say you don't need a WD setup.... With an F150, you should have one for that trailer... I would at any rate...

I think you would benefit with a WD hitch, especially if you tow it with anything in the bed.

One more question. So I am looking at WD hitches online with sway control. I like this one:

Now, finally my question. I thought that WD hitches were a totally new hitch. It looks like this just bolts onto your existing OEM hitch. Does that sound right?

Thanks.

Yes, the WD hitch slides right into the existing post.

I agree. Anyone I know has that plus sway control. When I pull, it's usually a 4k car on a 20ft bobcat trailer (heavy) and it pulls fine. I haven't done highways at speed but it still does well. Sway would be a concern of mine pulling any travel trailer. A few hundred bucks and that's something you don't have to worry is a weak point so why not.
